Land opposite Centrax engineering site in Newton Abbot could be turned into an eco-friendly holiday park.

An application has been submitted by landowner David Chandler to build 15 tourist lodges on the redundant 2.34-acre field off Shaldon Road.

The area is outside the town's development boundary and within an area of great landscape value.

Plans include a circular road around which the lodges would be placed, with new vehicle access and 'extensive soft landscape works'. The lodges would have the appearance of 'small log cabins' and be powered by solar heating and a wind turbine, and would use ...
