Wildcat combined luxury, power in '60s

The 1965-69 Buick Wildcat was one of the big, spectacular 1960s American cars with powerful V-8s that combined lots of luxury with extraordinary performance.

The 1960s were filled with powerful new high-performance muscle cars, but most weren't luxurious and had fairly low prices because they were for young drivers who just wanted sizzling acceleration.

On the other hand, the rather costly Wildcat was for adults who wanted good performance from huge, smooth V-8s, but also desired plenty of luxury and roominess.
