-STORRS -- Donald Thomas' eyes gleam as he pulls open the door to the magnificent weight room inside the Shenkman Training Center at the University of Connecticut. Thomas, a fifth-year senior from West Haven, has spent plenty of time in here. At 6-foot-4 and 298 pounds, he bench presses nearly a quarter of a ton and squats more than double his own body weight. A former walk-on, he's now the strongest offensive lineman at UConn.

But there will be no pumping iron on this visit. Thomas, wearing sandals and a polo shirt, is playing the part of tour guide around the Huskies' state-of-the-art ...
