LESSONS ON 'THE PASSION' In the gospels and the film, Christ's quarrel is with the Sanhedrin, not the Jewish people

When the centurion and those who were with him, keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with awe and said, "Truly, this was the Son of God!" -- Matthew [27:54]

And truly "The Passion of the Christ" is, to my mind, the greatest film ever produced. That's because it has the greatest script -- the death of Christ by sin, the redemption of mankind over sin.

Now to the critiques. First, the elitist one, that if not anti- Semitic itself, Mel Gibson's film may spur among the unlettered hatred for Jews. Not us, understand, but the great unwashed.
