North MP demands assurances that airport rail halt will go ahead

A New demand for an assurance that changes to local authority finances will not hit plans for a rail halt at Inverness Airport came last night from Highland MP Danny Alexander.

The Liberal Democrat MP for Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey spoke out after the Scottish Government ended direct funding for the Transport Partnership, which previously supported similar projects across the north.

The partnership will now have to approach cash-strapped Highland Council instead....
