While light snow showers moved out of the region by mid- afternoon Thursday, the Miami Valley will be embraced by below- freezing temperatures through the early part of the weekend.

Light snow showers dropped enough snow on local roadways to put some area schools on delayed schedules, but it was evening low temperatures that prompted the National Weather Service in Wilmington to issue a weather advisory. Temperatures dropped to single digits in many areas Thursday evening with wind chills below zero.
