When Al Capone, Pope Paul VI, Elton John or Harry Caray needed eye
glasses, they turned to Joseph Rosin.
The Berwyn optometrist was highly sought after by celebrities and
average folk because he knew glasses inside and out and offered
faster service than anyone else.
He had acquired that knowledge the hard way.
For years Mr. Rosin worked nights grinding lenses while completing
the 1,000 hours of study required to become a doctor of optometry.
Then, at a time when it could take a week to get a pair of glasses
made, he told patients he could do it 2 hours, and the world beat a
path to his door.
