It Is such a shame we do not get more snow, because the little we do get is an unwelcome intrusion and creates havoc to our routine.

In parts of Scotland and much of Europe, the snows of January are greeted as a wonderful excuse to get out into the winter air and extend playtime with some quite extraordinary sports.

Zara Phillips (pictured) and other celebrities were pictured this weekend playing golf in the snows of St Moritz where 'greens' are 'whites' and bunkers are deep drifts.
