Fortune Brands to buy Therma-Tru Lincolnshire conglomerate to pay $925 million for manufacturer of doors

Fortune Brands Inc., maker of Titleist golf balls and Jim Beam
bourbon, agreed to buy Therma-Tru Corp. for about $925 million in
cash to add residential doors to its home and hardware business.
Closely held Therma-Tru, based in Maumee, Ohio, has annual sales
of $400 million, Fortune Brands said. The purchase will add 15 cents
a share to annual earnings in the first year after the purchase, the
Lincolnshire-based conglomerate said.
