Layering works in clothing, decorating to make us cozy

For me, winter warmth is all about layering. Layering on color,
material and feel-good textures makes a room appear warmer and more
inviting. It offers flexibility, too, in that extra pillows can just
as easily be used in front of a fire or to cushion a child while
playing a game or taking a nap on the floor. Throws and blankets can
stay put on the arms of furniture to provide a quick cover for a
little shut-eye, be carried from room to room around your shoulders,
