Dr. Robert Harmon known for stellar care of children, addicts

Dr. Robert J. Harmon, a recovering alcoholic who devoted his life to helping others battle their addictions, died suddenly Feb. 24 of an apparent heart attack after collapsing at a medical conference in Puerto Rico. He was 59.

Dr. Harmon, professor of psychiatry and pediatrics at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, was especially known for his work with abused children and with drug and alcohol-addicted women who were pregnant or had young children.
