Can legislators who spend the weekend in Las Vegas legally collect their regular per diem from the state?

Absolutely. And 18 of the 21 who journeyed there in late March for a conference sponsored by the American Legislative Exchange Council did just that.

But never mind Las Vegas. Most of those who didn't go there also collected per diem for both Saturday and Sunday, even though the legislature didn't meet.
