Prince Charles has been named the property market's wealthiest
person in the West, with an estate worth an estimated pounds608
million.
The fifth Estates Gazette Rich List, which reveals the net worth
of 500 UK property magnates, has the Prince of Wales as the 45th
richest person overall in the UK, with his inherited fortune largely
made up of the Duchy of Cornwall land that he controls.
Other top property magnates in the region include Dorset-based
landowner Charlotte Townshend in 71st place, with a fortune put at
pounds400 million, and Harry Hyams, the reclusive Wiltshire multi-
