Two books which are on the bestseller list are attacks on religious belief - Richard Dawkins' The God Delusion, and Christopher Hitchens' God is Not Great.

These books represent a very aggressive atheism which is penetrating much of our society. Today it is increasingly unfashionable to recognise the existence of God. This is reflected in views hinted at by television interviewers and the like.
