In defense of a liberal arts education
|
IAM frequently asked to explain or advocate for the notion of a
liberal arts education. Most often, the query takes this form: What
is it that makes a liberal arts education valuable or, put directly,
worth the cost?
Typically, I take the question to be a reflection of concern about
the direct expense associated with an undergraduate degree in the
liberal arts and science and about its relevance in seeking
