In the midst of re-electing Bobbie Cronk as Allied Arts Council president, a few special people received awards for their impact on the arts community.

During the council's annual meeting at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art July 14, the Mayor's Awards for the Arts were given out by Mayor David Jones and Teresa Fankhauser, executive director for the council.

Since 1992, the arts council and the city of St. Joseph have honored arts volunteers, arts educators, arts projects and a business or corporation for outstanding achievements.
