Gilstrap, 6th District race candidate as Democrat, has Republican links

Another candidate with Republican Party roots enlisted in the
Democratic Party primary for Missouri's 6th Congressional District
seat.
At 5 p.m. Tuesday, as registration for the August primary closed,
David Gilstrap filed to run as a Democrat for the U.S. House seat.
Mr. Gilstrap lives in Columbia, Mo., outside the 6th District, and as
recently as 1991 served as president of the Columbia Pachyderm Club.
A former resident of St. Joseph, he served as a Bob Dole delegate
