Group of investors buys Snorkel

Snorkel International, once one of St. Joseph's largest employers, was purchased Thursday by a group of investors, including local businessmen.

Elwood Holdings purchased the entire Snorkel division, including the manufacturing facility in Elwood, Kan., from Textron Inc. on Thursday. The investors say they want to rejuvenate the struggling company, which closed the Elwood manufacturing plant in June.

Elwood Holdings includes Hank and David Bradley, principal owners of the New-Press & Gazette Co. of St. Joseph.
