The common theme heard over and over when friends and family were asked about attorney John Lingner was that they couldn't think of anything he wasn't interested in.

His interests surfaced whether he was studying philosopher Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, working to raise money for his beloved Union League Boys and Girls Club, or participating in a game of racquetball.

"John was extremely smart and extremely well-rounded," said attorney John Kakacek, a partner of Mr. Lingner's at their commercial litigation law firm and on the racquetball court.
