Maineiacs fall, 4-2

After scoring five times in the final period to beat Victoriaville Saturday, the Lewiston Maineiacs surrendered three goals in the final stanza in a 4-2 loss to Gatineau.

Lewiston had taken a 2-1 lead into the third period on goals by Stefano Giliati and Jonathan Paiement. Stefan Chaput assisted on both for the Maineiacs, which had a three-game winning streak snapped by the Olympiques. That lead didn't hold as Gatineau scored twice in the first 5:56 of the final period.
