Germany's Jewish ranks boom, but with tensions

DUSSELDORF, Germany--Sixty years after Hitler and his Nazi regime wiped out nearly all the Jews in Germany, Germany has the fastest growing Jewish population in the world.

About 100,000 Jews now call Germany home, a fraction of the half million Jews who lived in pre-war Germany, but dramatically more than the estimated 15,000 Jews who remained in Germany after World War II.

In the last decade, the Jewish community in Germany has nearly tripled from 35,000 in 1990.
