ALTHOUGH beaten in their Scottish Cup tie, Dee Vale can be satisfied with a respectable performance in their first competitive match of the season against higher league opposition.

Paisley looked strong from the outset but struggled to convert possession into chances as Dee Vale's defence remained solid.
