A Rare photo signed by Russia's last emperor during a visit to Balmoral is expected to fetch up to pounds2,500 at auction.

The picture was autographed by Tsar Nicholas II on a 10-day visit to Scotland in 1896.

It is particularly rare and valuable because he also wrote the word "Balmoral" in the bottom corner.

Only six signed pictures of the Tsar have come up for sale in the past 30 years.
