Karen Hilbert, owner of Hilbert Realty Inc., always had an inkling that she was supposed to work in the real estate industry.

"I have a bachelors of science degree and I'm a registered nurse, but as soon as I walked across the stage and got my diploma, I handed my dad my nursing cap and said I want to come sell real estate with you," Hilbert said.

Thirty years later, Hilbert now owns her own real estate company, which she started with her father who retired seven years ago.
