Tokyo, May 30, 2006 - (JCN) - Calpis announced on May 29 that it has discovered a unique property of lactobacillus acidophilus strain L-92, a kind of lactic acid bacteria.

In collaboration with Aichi Gakusen University, the company's R&D division has confirmed that an intake of milk fermented by L-92 helps alleviates atopic dermatitis. In particular, it substantially relieves the skin symptoms and itching.
