Costs keep workers out of Golden Bay
|
High housing costs and low wages are deterring workers from moving
to Golden Bay, according a new report.
The police, Department of Conservation and Golden Bay High School
have all reported potential employees turning down offers of
employment because of high housing costs compared with other areas.
Employment, income, crime, education, health and community
services, as well as population trends and housing are covered by the
report, written by Golden Bay Work Centre Trust project manager Mik
Symmons.
