Getting the gentian blues - exporter now sells locally

Pauline Earl has got the blues in a big way.
The Blenheim woman has been selling gentians at the Nelson market
where the striking blue colour has been attracting plenty of
attention and a lot more questions.
"Everyone asks what they are. I'll have to put up a sign,'' she
says.
Pauline has been growing the blue flowers for the last seven years
but the high New Zealand dollar has meant it is not worthwhile
exporting them, so she's been selling them to the New Zealand florist
trade and at the market.
