Nelson dubbed `kitesurfing capital'

Nelson has been dubbed the kitesurfing capital of New Zealand, enthusiast Warren Mitchell says.

Mr Mitchell, who has recently started a kitesurfing school in Marahau with partner Wiebke Bode, said it was becoming the fastest growing watersport in New Zealand and Nelsonians were taking it up by the dozens.

The sport was also "booming" in Germany where the couple met, Ms Bode said.
