Taxi! Take me around the sights of Glasgow; Black cab drivers challenge bus firms by launching their own city tours for visitors

GLASGOW'S black cab drivers are taking on the city's tour bus operators at their own game.

Taxi drivers are using their knowledge of Glasgow to offer visitors a guided tour of the city.

Bosses of the 900-strong Glasgow Taxis fleet are currently carrying out induction and registration sessions for any of their 2500 drivers who want to be guides.

Visitors to the city who don't want to brave the elements on an open-top bus will soon be able to enjoy personal tours from the comfort of a Hackney cab.

The service will be launched next month after the first 100 drivers are registered.
