Big festival sticks out like a towering inferno; arts event set to light up streets for thousands

IF anyone deserves a Blue Peter badge, it's Julian Crouch. The Improbable Theatre's artistic director is simply second to none when it comes to fashioning spectacular things from sticky tape and sparklers.

And he's back in Scotland with his biggest show yet.

Sticky, one of the highlights of this year's Big in Falkirk Festival, promises to be a cracker as roll after roll of tape is pulled and twisted out to form a structure in front of the audience's very eyes.

And hundreds of sparklers burst into life, turning it into a 100ft tower, shimmering against the night sky.…
