INDIANA'S CHILD, TEEN DEATH RATES DECLINE

The death rate for children and teenagers in Indiana has dropped below the national average, an annual report said.

Indiana ranked 32nd among all states based on progress on 10 statistics, including infant mortality, poverty rates, single-parent families and babies born with low-birth weights. The findings were released Tuesday by the Annie E. Casey Foundation as part of the annual Kids Count report on the health and well-being of children and teens.
