WILLIAM DODD LAST HEARD FROM IN 1944 CHRISTMAS CARD WWII SOLDIER STILL AMONG MISSING

William E. Dodd, 25, didn't return from the Second World War.
Not his body. Not his uniform. Not even his dog tags.
Just a telegram saying the corporal was missing in Germany and
presumed dead.
"I cried something awful," says Helen Zehr, who married William
shortly before the war when she was only 15 years old. "I didn't go
out of the house for a year, not even to the grocery store. Mom got
after me. She said I had to be strong for the kids."
Her last missive from William was a Christmas card he wrote in
early December 1944.
