SQUIRRELS LOSING WAR TO MANGE
|
Just like the song says, "When Momma ain't happy, nobody's happy."
And Mom Nature seems more than a bit peeved.
Last year,wildlife lived on a bounty of all things edible, but
this year things have turned ugly. Woodlands are virtually devoid of
nuts, seeds and berries.
Croplands left a shelled bounty of waste grain, but thanks to warm
weather and continuing rains, those spilled grains sprouted in the
fields and were lost as wildlife food sources.
The results are hungry hordes of birds and critters packing
together around feed lots, bird feeders and grain elevators. This
bodes more trouble as ...
