FORMER HYDROPLANE DRIVER DIES IN OHIO RIVER ACCIDENT
|
A boating accident on the Ohio River at Owensboro, Ky., Saturday
killed an Owensboro man who was active in unlimited hydroplane racing
for many years.
William Sterett, 57, was riding an older model hydroplane craft on
the river about noon when it apparently crashed into waves that a
passing barge had produced, Owensboro Police Department officer Doug
Esther said.
"Witness statements indicated the boat was traveling at a high
