CONTRADICTORY TRUSS FACTS CONFUSE

Q: I just purchased a brand-new home but decided to have it
inspected just to be safe. The inspector found that the roof trusses
are not braced properly.
My builder said trusses are designed especially for the homes he
builds, and no additional bracing is needed. Who am I to believe?

A: The answer could be both.
Trusses can be designed for floors or roof systems, but in the
interest of space, we will discuss only the roof trusses. Trusses are
engineered systems built to specifications to withstand the stress of
anticipated loads that will be placed on the truss system.
