OBADIAH HAS A STRONG MESSAGE FOR NEED TO BECOME INVOLVED

Today, we consider Obadiah, but not the Obadiah whose writings are
found among the works of those prophets called "Minor," whose books
are shorter than those bearing the names of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel
and Daniel.
This Obadiah was, in the ninth century B.C., employed at the court
of King Ahab in northern Israel. This appears a bit strange, since
Obadiah was diametrically opposed to everything for which Ahab stood,
such as building a temple for the pagan god Baal in the nation's
capital, erecting an altar to Baal in that temple and worshipping
Baal.
