A judge heard and then took under advisement Friday a case in
which the city-county Weights and Measures inspector seeks to fine a
local company for removing an inspection seal from a taxicab meter.
Inspector Loretta Townsend called in Checker Cab No. 78 Feb. 22
and ordered a deputy to remove the meter after she found -- as an
anonymous caller had reported to her -- that the meter had been
unsealed.
The cab had been inspected and sealed Jan. 17, but Townsend
