SOUTHERN DISTRICT FEDERAL COURT CASES PROMPT CONTINUED CALLS FOR NEW JUDGE

The judicial Southern District of Indiana, which geographically takes in two-thirds of the state, administers federal justice through courthouses in Evansville, Indianapolis, New Albany and Terre Haute.

But a disproportionate one-of-three felony cases are handled through the court in Evansville.

That fact suggests that, of all federal jurists in the state, U.S. District Judge Richard L. Young has the most firsthand knowledge about why he and his colleagues have been pushing for a new temporary federal judgeship.
