JON HILBERT HAS COME A LONG WAY SINCE THE FIRST TIME HE TEED ONE UP

Ron Rogier remembers the first time he saw Jon Hilbert kick a football.

"He didn't even know how to set the ball on the tee," said Rogier.

That was in 1991, the summer before Hilbert's sophomore year at Boonville High School. Hilbert had never played football; his autumns were devoted to soccer.

Soccer coach John Bertram and Rogier, the football coach, convinced Hilbert to take a shot at football.
