Jon Hilbert has spent the past couple of years traveling around the country, trying to win a job with an NFL team.

This time, though, he didn't have to go knocking on doors. The job came to him.

Hilbert will be going to camp next month with the Chicago Bears. The defending NFC Central champions recently signed the kicker from Boonville to a two-year contract reportedly worth nearly $700,000.

"This is the first place I've ever been wanted," said Hilbert, who spent the second half of last season with the Dallas Cowboys. "The Bears came after me instead of me going after them."
