When William Booth founded the Salvation Army in 1865, he pledged to "fight till the very end" to help those less fortunate.

More than 140 years later, his Christian army fights the same fight in Grimsby and across the world.

We have all donated money as the army band plays carols, but have any of us considered how hard our loose change is made to work?

This Christmas, as they have for the past 126 Christmases in Grimsby, Salvation Army volunteers will open the hand of goodwill to those in need.
