Aberdeen's five year European exile ended when they faced Ukrainian cracks Dnipro back in September.

The Dons had to beat the East Europeans over two legs to progress to the lucrative group stages.

But after a tense 0-0 draw at Pittodrie in the first leg, the odds were stacked against Jimmy Calderwood's team progressing any further in their quest for glory on the European stage.

Enter Darren Mackie, who headed home a stunning goal to fire Aberdeen ahead in the away leg.

Although Dnipro did force an equaliser, the Dons defence held firm for the Reds to progress on the away goals rule.
