Elkview woman launches Project Linus chapter in Kanawha Valley: Group makes blankets for ill children

Project Linus, a nonprofit effort, based on a beloved comic strip
character and devoted to ill children and teenagers, has been
officially established in the Kanawha Valley.
"Project Linus has been in existence for nearly 10 years,"
explained Elizabeth Sharp, who spearheaded the local effort. "The
idea came from Karen Loucks, a woman in Colorado who read a story in
Parade magazine about a child undergoing chemotherapy who was
comforted through her treatments by a security blanket.
