PARKERSBURG - Defending Class AAA state champion Ripley took one more giant step toward repeating its crown.

The Vikings received solo home runs from Zeb Reed and Jon Barnard and a complete-game pitching performance from Dakota Wills to dispatch St. Albans 7-2 in the Region 4 semifinals Tuesday at Bennett Stump Field.

The win advances Ripley into the Region 4 championship game at 6:30 p.m. today at Nitro High School against No. 1-ranked Cabell Midland, a 7-5 winner over Huntington Monday.
