Fayette helps Lafayette project

FAYETTEVILLE - Fayette County commissioners agreed Friday to give
$1,500 to pay for some final items that will complete the ceremony
next month when a new statue of the Marquis de Lafayette is unveiled
on the courthouse grounds.
Danny Wright, chairman of the Fayette County Historic Landmark
Commission, showed the commissioners an artist's rendering of the
statue that will be brought to the county in September to honor the
man for whom the county was named: Marie Joseph Paul Yves Roch
