Recent events cut down on the charm of 'Pippin'

Recent events have made "Pippin" a good deal more topical than when the Guild last did the show.

For me at least, that wasn't all to the good when the Charleston Light Opera Guild opened the Stephen Schwartz musical Friday night at the Civic Center Little Theater.
