Hospital unlikely to buy ballpark: CAMC has no plans for Watt Powell site

Charleston Area Medical Center is not likely to buy Watt Powell Park, the hospital's chief operating officer indicated Thursday.

Dr. Glenn Crotty said Mayor Jay Goldman and CAMC President David Ramsey discussed on one occasion the possible purchase of the 7.5- acre site.

"I don't think there were a lot of positive vibrations from Mr. Ramsey to the mayor that we would be interested," Crotty said.
