Fort Garry Sets Special Meeting Date for Amalgamation Vote With Russell

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 20, 2007) -
Russell Breweries Inc. ("Russell") (TSX VENTURE:RB), today announced
that Fort Garry Brewing Company Ltd. ("Fort Garry") has set October
18, 2007 as the date of the Special Meeting of Stockholders to vote
on Russell's proposed purchase of all outstanding shares of Fort
Garry through a Plan of Amalgamation.
Terms of the Definitive Agreement, signed July 27, 2007, include
the purchase of all outstanding common shares and preferred shares of
Fort Garry. Common shareholders of Fort Garry will have the option to
