AECL's Professional Staff to Strike

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 28, 2006) - Engineers and
scientists at Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL) Chalk River
Laboratories voted overwhelmingly to strike at a meeting last night
in Chalk River, Ontario. This follows six months of negotiations to
renew their Collective Agreement which expired June 30, 2006.
"AECL is attempting to achieve a 5 year contract with lower
salaries and benefits than their own engineers and scientists in
