OPEN COLUMN Removing noise pollution improves general health

Editor, the Tribune: I am a retired physician with an interest in the public health effects of noise pollution. I am writing concerning the recent article written by Janese Heavin about the young woman who was stopped for violating the local noise ordinance.

I applaud the efforts of the police for enforcing the law and urge the young woman, before going to law school to become a civil rights lawyer, to consider the rights of the people she violated by her intentional (and illegal) acoustic assault on their tranquility, peace and health.
